Arts & Crafts

I started knitting a couple of days ago, I was just inside one shop looking for a crochet needle for myAmigurumi project and here is a bit of explanation on what Amigurumi is:

(Amigurumi (編みぐるみ, lit. knitted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll.[1] Amigurumi are typically animals, but can include artistic renderings or inanimate objects endowed with anthropomorphic features)

So I got the needle but also saw a lovely scarf/collar that looked quite easy to make so I decided to start on that one instead :) It is basically straigt forward and done by what is called Perlestrikk in Norwegian (googled and found it's called moss-stitch in English) and it is not more complicated than 1 right and 1 wrong and switch on the next round. My kind of project - easy and will look good when it is done and actually something that I will wear!

Here are some other nice ones for inspiration

Finland!

Just been a trip to Finland - and of course had to bring back some more Finnish Design!

As I already have Unikko mugs, Maribowl (6-8 now?), Mumin teaspoons so this time I went for oven mitts! :)

I like this new design! So it inspired me to change the other things in my kitchen for a more graphic black and white theme. So away with bits and bobs for a cleaner look complete with this lovely pot stand on the kitchen table I thought the result was quite ok!

So if you are up for some nice scandinavian design here are a few links:
